Volunteering at ICP
As a part of our volunteer programme, we cooperate with both Czech and foreign volunteers who all have one thing in common- they live in Prague and want to help others. They help us – for free and in their free time – with our work, they realize their own ideas and events and take part in community service activities through which they positively contribute to the environment and society they live in.
The successes of our volunteers
Organization of events
In the past years, our foreign volunteers organized many of their own one-time events (lectures, concerts, workshops, etc.), through which they shared their life stories, the culture of their home countries, their know-how and skills, etc. Among the most successful were the following events: “The beauty and pain of Bolivia”, “The online concert of Iranian folk music”, the DIY online workshop on “Guatemalan doll-making” or the community eco-event “Eco-night in Hybernská: SWAP and more!”. As a part of our volunteer program, we have also organized a few cultural events in nursing homes (for example a Chinese dance performance or a screening of an Iraqi document with a discussion) in order to bring some joy and entertainment to the elderly living there.
Clean Czechia
We have also repeatedly taken part in the community service eco-initiative Clean Czechia, as a part of which our Czech and foreign volunteers cleaned selected parts of Prague. We are currently planning a series of other community activities focused on environmental as well as other topics.
Assistance at events and festivals
Our volunteers help us at events we organize as well as at ICP stands at various festivals we take part in. Often, they take high-quality photos and videos from our events and thus co-create our social media content.
Language clubs
Among our most popular volunteer activities are our regular language clubs, led by foreign native speakers. The language clubs are a great way to improve one´s language skills as well as the perfect opportunity to meet new people – both Czechs and foreigners.
